Groom & Bridal Preperations – Jupiters Hotel and Casino Townsville
Ceremony in the Gardens of Jupiters Hotel
Location photography at Queens Gardens & Anzac Park, Townsville
Reception in Jupiters Ballroom
Congratulations to Megan and Josh for finally tying the knot! I must admit, that with two date changes and two children inbetween booking me as their photographer some years ago, I was starting to wonder…
These two little boys were definitely part of the hold up, along with building a house! The day finally did arrive and a fabulous day it was too, our glorious winter, sunny weather, perfect in every way for a wedding.
I do love this town this time of year, the sun lower in the sky, longer shadows, golden, warm, winter afternoons with dazzling light! You can’t beat it.
I started the photo coverage with the groom and his groomsmen, all was pretty relaxed and calm there, even with two little boys to keep everyone on their toes, nothing a good dose of tickling would not cure.
Also very cool, calm and collected over in the bridal suite, with just parents and bridesmaides, who happen to be sisters, so it was very much a family affair. There were a couple of last minute sewing adjustments made by mum of the bride, then some great, getting dressed pics of the girls, such a girly time, I love it!
The wedding ceremony was held downstairs in the gardens, Megan just checks out who is there, I check out how the light is falling, is there enough shade?
The girls are ready on time, with even a few moments to spare. I love the light in the hotel room, with windows on both sides of the room, beautiful side lighting for a radiant bride.
It was a lovley touch that little Jake was able to bring the rings up to his parents for the ceremony.
I just love the look on his face as his parents are pronounced “Married” He was such a good boy during the ceremony, with a lot of responsibility, and everyone watching.
There they are, the long awaited rings, the wedding dress and flowers in that sensational North Queensland winter sunshine.
Queens Gardens, is a great location with a diverse selection of photo opportunities.
In this photo we have added a little bit of warm tungsten light, it just gives everything a nice warmish glow, especially to highlight the satin fabric and beadwork on the dress.
Jupiters once again organised and executed a great function, consistant great food and service really give this place the edge as a venue!
Best wishes to you both!
