The Bride and Groom

Well, Townsville this time of year the sun is usually shining brightly, not this day however. I woke to find a dull looking overcast day but shrugged it off saying it will be fine by this afternoon. As we arrived to photograph the Groom in Cranbrook, it started to drizzle. The grooms parents home was a great spot for photos, and we made full use of both the pool table and the bar in photos with the boys who were, believe it or not, all fully dressed and ready when we arrived.00010928bw copy Everyone was in good spirits and we set off to visit the girls getting ready in the city.00011066 copy

At Mondobassi Hair Salon, things were well underway and the girls were still having make up and hair finished. We set up for some portraits  and as the girls were ready we photographed them, meanwhile the sun was moving in and out of the clouds.00010081bw copy Vicki did look amazing with her dark and smokey eyemakeup and a dress that realy did look senstaional on her, I am sure you will agree?00010116 copy

After spending some time covering the event of the bridal preperations we left for the cathedral on the hill.00011200 copy This is a great church for photos as the interior is light and airy with a stunning wooden vaulted ceiling. The bride arrived on time and the ceremony took place without incident until it was time for the newly married bride and groom to exit, the heavens opened and it poured with rain. So much so, we were offered the church interior for the family portriats.  As is was too wet to get to cars the guests lingered and talked.00010240 copy

We decided to abandon our original photo location plans when we looked at the weather radar which predicted more, heavier rain. We made our way back into town to The Brewery, which offered up a feast of photo locations to use and we did.00010518 copy

00010474bw copyFor a change of scene we decided to go to the Old Railway Station, and then a break in the weather meant we could actually visit the planned grafiti laneway for some pictures afterall.00010730 copy 00010638 copy 00010667 copy Freshly painted in fantastic bright colours, it realy made an awesome background, thanks to the artists!00010398 copy

The reception was back at The Brewery, where upstairs in the function room, we were able to capture the excitement of the arrival of the Mr and Mrs Katthagen, and their first dance together as husband and wife.

Congratulations to Vicki and Kristopher, all the best for a happy long life together!
